Overview
381 Constructors, a joint venture between Cianbro, TIC and Middlesex Corporation, is under contract to construct the P-381 Dry Dock project at Portsmouth Naval shipyard in Kittery, Maine. Part of the Navy’s Shipyard Infrastructure Optimization Program. the multi-mission dry dock construction project will extend the depth and size of the docks that support the maintenance and overhaul of Virginia (VA) Class submarines. Through expansion and reconfiguration of the shipyard’s Dry Dock 1 area, the project will increase the capacity to maintain, modernize, and repair the Navy’s attack submarines
The P-381 Dry Dock project includes construction of: (2) two new dry docks, a pump station, utility building, electrical facilities, and associated infrastructure; along with drilled shafts, secant pile walls, large precast sections, and cast-in-place concrete. The project will begin early 2022 with an anticipated completion date in 2028.
